Beautiful hand carved wood sculpture of Maasai couple in full tribal regalia and traditional ear piecing. Approx 6 3/4 tall. This skilled artist used the natural shades in the wood and added considerable texture to signify cloth weaving and hair texture. Photos do not do this exquisite pair justice. Wood has been rubbed with museum grade wax to protect and enhance natural qualities of the aged wood. Please note that woman has crack between her breasts as shown in photos (it does not run through but appears to be more surface. I have included details of any areas that may be a flaw to some. Please looks closely as I will not accept a return on this item.) Wood cracking is a flaw typically signifying the natural process of wood aging and should not diminish value.
