Literally brand new. I opened it used it for 3 days, then I putted it back in the box. The screen got pretty hot for the 1st hour I used it, so I asked amazon for a replacement unit. But the screen cooled down after that and didn't become hot again. My replacement unit also became hot in the first hour, then went back to normal temp. So I guess it just does that the first time you open it. The monitor is perfectly fine, and alll of the cable and accessories are neatly packaged back into the box
