This cold-rolled Chromoly flat steel boasts a clean, smooth surface. While hot and cold-rolled 4130 sheets differ cosmetically, their mechanical strength is similar. This aircraft-grade 4130 (condition N, spec AMS-6345-C) alloy steel is ideal for crafting high-strength custom tabs and brackets, thanks to its strength, weldability, and ease of fabrication. It's popular in aviation and racing. Due to production methods, it's not perfectly flat, and edges may have a thin layer of hardness from shearing or plasma cutting. Grinding off edge hardness before cutting helps prevent premature tool dulling. Cut tolerance is typically ±1/4". Always have welding done by a qualified professional.
