The cap of the G-Tube is designed so no special locking device is needed. The cap makes an audible "snap" that indicates a secure closure has been formed. The extra tight seal will not come open during processing yet will open easily with a little thumb pressure. All caps have a textured writing surface on top with a needle access target in the center. The 1.5 mL and 2.0 mL tubes have an additional textured writing surface on the side of the tube. G-Tubes are made of a tough, transparent and specially formulated polypropylene for better sample viewing and overall strength. These tubes are designed with thicker walls to withstand extreme stress, high spinning speeds, autoclaving, boiling, freezing and increase chemical-resistance. The interior has a smooth polished non- wet table surface, preventing liquids from adhering to the sides.
