I made this piece from genuine Fordite sourced from an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) contract paint facility in Michigan that paints components for multiple major auto manufacturers. It comes in a gift box with a Certificate of Authenticity describing the source of the material. Please use the image next to the ruler for size reference. Fordite is created from built-up layers of automotive paint overspray that were repeatedly baked during the coating process, forming a hard, solid material. And contrary to earlier beliefs, small amounts of contemporary Fordite rough are still available to lapidary artists like myself.
