This standard covers anti-corrosion adhesive primers for aluminum alloys in honeycomb sandwich panels for shelters. Applied to clean surfaces, it resists corrosion and enables structural bonding and painting. The primer, a pigmented epoxy liquid, sprays smoothly without added solvent. Uncured primers are tested for solids, inhibitors, stability, life, color, sprayability, and curing. Cured films are tested for metal adhesion, impact resistance, hardness, water resistance, environmental durability, corrosion resistance, aging, heat resistance, and low-temperature shock. Bonded specimens are tested for lap shears at normal, low, and high temperatures, humidity exposure, salt spray exposure, and peel strengths at normal and low temperatures.
