Vintage Edmé Samson et Cie armorial porcelain square dish. - White porcelain base with gorgeous hand painted design. Gilt rampant lions in a heraldic crest design form the central motif, with stunningly detailed floral designs around the raised border. Finished with gilt decorative rim. - This piece is stamped with the style number on the back. It does not have additional marks, which is not uncommon for Samson pieces, which often have no marks at all. The style is very distinct to this maker making it easy to identify. - Edmé Samson et Cie was created in 1845 and continued to produce porcelain and pottery until 1969. This piece likely dates to the early to mid 20th century.- Good condition with no cracks or chips. There is some light surface wear evident to the gilt, however largely the finish is excellent with all the detailed hand painted work in tact. Measurements: 8" x 8" x 1"
