The Waldo Foundry of Bridgeport Connecticut in cooperation with Holmes and Edwards (their Rialto pattern). In April 1894 Waldo patented a special alloy of aluminum that had a gold appearance. These are NOT gold washed. They are a solid alloy and polishing will not remove the "gold". In September 1894 Waldo registered their Griffin Head trademark found on each of these pieces. (Looks sort of like a 1 in front of the WALDO HE) seen on the back stem of this dinnerware.
