Chicago Worlds Fair Antique 1893 Silk Handkerchief Souvenir Columbus Landing. RARE & UNUSUAL! This is quilted silk fabric - it appear to be hand stitched with brown thread around the edges. It is in a rectangle shape, but it is folded with corners attached with a stitch. Rectangle would be approx 18 x 9, but when folded it looks like a 9x9 square. Cream color silk with a brownish red graphic that celebrates the the Landing of Chistopher Columbus. Pre-owned condition. This is over 100 years old and does have some issues. There are some stains and some of the stitching has wear. When put up to the light you can see that the batting is thin in some areas. Graphics are actually in excellent shape. I didn't try to clean due to delicacy and age of the fabric - any cleaning will be left up to the buyer.
