Mexico Mask Maker of Tocuaro Juan Horta - this piece of Latin American folk art was carved and painted by Juan Horta Castillo, considered by many as one of the greatest mask makers in Mexico's rich history of mask makers. Unequaled in excellence, his pieces have earned an international reputation. From a single piece of wood, this carving shows exquisite definition as well as fine paint detail. He passed away in 2006 but his sons are still carrying on the tradition of mask carving in Tocuaro.
