This beautifully-proportioned plate is a rarity even within the Eastbourne China Pattern itself - all the other pieces are round! The pattern features "roped" scalloped edges with gilt edging, a stunning royal blue band, and floral motifs. What a stunning trinket dish!
Having established a solid reputation since its founding in 1883, at the turn of the century they developed a product known as "semi-porcelain"; a range of pottery that had the characteristics of fine china, but the durability of ironstoneware. This became very popular in the US. Johnson Bros. stopped production England in 2003. All production ceased in 2015.
Measurement: 8" square.
Excellent condition: no chips, cracks, or crazing, vibrant colors. Tiny black dot from production (see photo).
