This four piece tea or coffee set was made by Quadruple Barbour Silver Company. 2414, the mark on the underside of each of these pieces.. Its called Quadruple because their silver-plate had four times the silver than other silver-plate pieces.
Typical silver plated items have a .003 inch thick layer of silver. Quadruple plate silver items have four times that amount with a 0.012 inch thick layer. The increased thickness makes the plating more durable and less likely to expose the inner core over time.
The engraving is an incredibly fine floral design, featured on all three items. On the bottom of each piece is the circular stamp of the Barbour Silver Co. stating these pieces are quadruple plated, as well as the catalogue number 2414.
