Nice antique original four page letter on Louisville & Nashville Railroad Co. letterhead with original envelope
Letter written and signed by General Agent Frank Turpen
Addressed to W.H. Williams of Greenville, Ohio
Dated 1893
Frank's letter includes interesting details about economic and strike troubles happening at that time in Alabama, including tidbits about the sheriff "skipping town" at the threat of violence from the strikers and Governor Jones sending in 150 state troops. Frank also enclosed in his letter a leaflet entitled "After the Strike", which he described as "a parody on 'After the Ball' written by one of the strikers which they are selling for five cents a copy in order to buy beer for their cause"
